Today we had made changes to the blog emoticons at the bottom of each blog entry. Originally, the choices were "interesting", "funny" and "cool". These choices were by default in the google blog. Readers of the entries actually were selecting all three. The choices of funny and cool made no sense to this blog since the entries were neither funny nor cool (although I have been told I write with sometimes a subtle tongue in cheek mixed with hard hitting style). I'm sure the readers were at a loss to best describe their feelings after they read the entry. So those 2 choices were canned.
We went with the more descriptive "interesting" which means thought provoking, "wow" which means this entry was found incredulous, and "can't agree" which gives readers at least the choice that the entry's issue may not be viable to that reader.
Of course one can also click on the comment selection and post a further comment to the blog.
Thanks for reading the TREE,
